      Entretien

      One of the most unprofessional interviews I have ever been part of. I was contacted for this position through a recruiter, who submitted a resume on my behalf. The initial steps were standard: phone screen followed by an onsite interview. The first indication that things were a bit off was, although I prepared for a technical assessment, there was no coding assessment of my technical abilities at all. I was simply brought on to the next step in the process, which was an onsite "half-day" of meeting and working with the team. There was no real structure or goal during this step of the interview process either. The most shocking part of this step (which I would assume the company investors would not be happy about) is that the company shares its product source code with applicants, without requiring them to sign an NDA. At this point, it was clear that the product was more a proof-of-concept. Afterwards, I was told that I would receive feedback from the company within 48-72 hours. A week went by with no response, so I reached back out to the team. Again, I received no response from the company. The recruiter I worked with then attempted to reach out, and also received no response from the company. This went on for several weeks before I gave up on a response. Unless you are early in your career and need the experience or an internship, I would highly advise avoiding interviewing with this company.

      Thanks for providing your feedback! We always appreciate constructive criticism and are working to define the best interview process for our culture and team. Our interview process involves an on-site interview with members from our engineering team to assess a candidate's technical skill in a real-world task. Often times, once a candidate’s passed an initial technical screening alongside a company-fit screening (often combined), we will invite a candidate to an on-site to assess for a technical knowledge and skill as well as alignment with STORD’s values and team culture. Past challenges have involved warehousing algorithms, inventory management functionality, and testing suites; each of these challenges are done via pair programming with a closed codebase. When the candidate will not be interacting with protected components of our system, we do not require an NDA; if the on-site delves deeper into the codebase, the candidate is always asked to complete an NDA to be allowed to participate. After completion of the on-site, the participating engineers and STORD team provide a graded feedback of the candidate on technical knowledge, thought-process, adaptability, and various points in STORD’s culture and values. If the candidate does not meet these standards/fit, they are unfortunately not progressed to an offer; this is communicated to the candidate through the channel they interviewed through (angellist, recruiter, inbound email, linkedin, etc…). In this instance through an outside recruiter, we do apologize if that feedback was not conveyed in a timely or appropriate manner.       Entretien

      Started with a phone screening with a recruiter, then went on to a phone screen with Engineering Director. After a bit I was given a takehome project and then after about a week I had a debrief with an engineer. After that, had an interview with the team's hiring manager, and then after an internal hiccup ended up having a final interview with the CTO. Overall this was not a very fun process, tons of interviews/levels of bureaucracy. After every step it took about a week to hear back from them, and the entire process took over 2 months. For the most part the team was nice, but the CTO was extremely aggressive and the interview with him was one of the most hostile interviews I've ever been in. The HR team was also not extremely communicative and actually made it sound like I had an offer before recanting that statement.

      Entretien

      The interview process was straightforward and lasted around two weeks. It followed a typical engineering interview process with an initial phone interview to assess technical abilities, followed by an in-person interview, and then a half day onsite. The environment was very relaxed. On the half day onsite, I worked closely with a couple of the engineers through a real full-stack problem via pair programming. The team was smart, friendly, and very accommodating and I felt like it might be a good environment for me to work. We solved an interesting problem collaboratively, and I learnt a lot from one of the senior engineers paired with me. They followed up fairly promptly (3 days after the on-site), and I got an offer to join the team.
