Just like another Retail Sales Associate Interviewee had said "Interview was done in corner of store standing up which seemed odd." (Oct 28, 2015 - Corte Madera, CA)
Yes, it was odd. I thought it was not professional. It was about 7 minutes. I did not feel the
Interviewer cared about the interview just cared about hiring someone specific to their "preferred"
or "specific" type of retail. It was too quick of an interview to give a professional care.
I do not recommend applying to Sur La Table at Walnut Creek, CA. They seemed dis-interested, unless you are "specifically" and had "current" retail experience, even though I had extensive customer & sales experience. Not recommend for future job-seekers do not spend time filling out the online application. This position is only offered in Part-time.

Two managers interviewed me outside at a table and chairs near the retail setting. Only one interview, mostly about food and what item I would buy from the store. Definitely recommend reviewing the interview questions as stated on here. They were all pretty much the same as mentioned.

I was connected through a friend and, per her direction, submitted my application online. The interview was really relaxed. I had a lot of retail and sales experience prior to working at SLT, so I just answered a few questions, authorized a background check and that was it.

The interview process was very laid back. The manager did most of the talking. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all and I didn't have to talk much. There is a lot of training involved to learn all the products. I didn't feel that the pay was at the level of the knowledge needed to do this job well.
