Landed a phone screen with the help of a colleague who knew someone at Uber. Had a standard phone screen with the recruiter. Very mechanical, the recruiter didn't really care what I had to say and it felt like they were going through the motions. Followed up via email and didn't get a response. I usually pass the initial phone screen 90% of the time so I was surprised to not even hear back. I get that Uber is a really competitive place and getting a job there is tough, but to show no respect to the candidate by having the decency to get back to them is a microcosm of their culture. They simply don't care. It should be no suprise why Uber gets the negative press it does. Doesn't sound like a really good place to work.
