I was referred by an employee.
Their response time has been the fastest I have ever seen. I applied a week ago and I have already completed 2/4 rounds (Phone and Excel). I am scheduled for the video conference with the HM on Tuesday (9 days since applying), after which there will be an on-site interview.
1: Phone Screen: Very positive, sweet recruiting lady. I could tell she genuinely was listening and gave me a detailed overview on the role and the company and what they are looking for. She forwarded me the Excel test instantly after the screen.
This part for me involved your classic Why Uber, tell me about yourself, tell me about a time...type questions. Nothing Uber related apart from why you want to work there.
2: Excel Analytics Test: You NEED to study for this. Use online resources, study Uber (terms, metrics, market) and practice with pivot tables, sorting, if(and) formulas, and sum formulas. Be prepared to answer strategy type questions about day to day operations using data they provide you and making inferences from it. I was told the day after I took it that I passed and they scheduled me for a video conference the same day itself.
Overall, so far, I am very impressed by their turn around time and demeanor towards me. It has been an efficient process. But a rigorous one too. If you want to work at Uber, get ready to really work to impress.
Back to prep for the video conference for me. I'll update this post once I'm through with the entire process.

First step is recruiter screening and have your "why Uber" answer ready, next was a data analysis project that has 10 questions related to an excel sheet and if you pass that, you have a conversation with a member of the team talking about a broad situational case question like "we're operating in this city and first time orders are going up, but 2nd time orders are going down, what would you look at to determine the reason?" I didn't make it past the case. I would recommend to not keep your answers to broad and for you to get to what you think is the answer while relevant to the position title and responsibilities, rather than a broad answer that is not in scope of your responsibilities. I do know the last step if you presenting a piece of work to a panel.
