I usually don't write reviews but I felt like anyone interviewing at AirWatch has to know few things and what to expect. The recruiter reached out to me as they liked my profile. Pros: Cool technology but not unique though (There are 10 other companies doing the same thing) Owned by VmWare. Cant think of anything else, oh wait starbucks coffee (I didn't have one but was told they had it). Cons: Sounded like a lot of Ex Manhattan Associates folks. Even the Application form has hidden text that says Manhattan Associates. Go figure. Might be hard to get into the cool boys club if you are not one of them. Horrible workplace. It is literally a software company packed in a warehouse. Don't be fooled by recruiters who compare this to google's workplace. I have seen google's campus it looks nothing like AirWatch's workplace. I saw folks packed in conference rooms perhaps to escape the theater. Their common area is a 20x20 section with few refrigerators. I saw more than 3 people walking outside the building on the phone. Common reason for Engineers to stroll out on the pavement as there is no privacy indoors. Also, it was a very hot day (95F) for a good walk outside so had to be a need to be outside than a choice. Unclear interview process and next steps. Not at all organized. They usually have the interviews around lunch time and don't even have a courtesy of asking if the candidate had lunch already. Sorry, If you want to meet during lunch time please be courteous about it. They call everyone R&D which is a way to lure in people. Beware, know the position and ask your day-to-day responsibilities. Based on what I heard they do its mostly catching up rather than Research. During the interview process, it sounded like a bias towards how old I was, the interviewers kept asking when did you graduate high school, when did you get your degree more than few times. I am really not sure why would they ask that except for figuring out my age. They could have just asked. During the interview, the interviewer was frequently getting calls from his manager and the panel was on their knees saying "on my way and in the middle of an interview". This happened on both the days. Not sure if it was coincidence or just any other day. Would they be ok me taking phone calls during an interview? Bottom-line: After all these flags, I feel some of the good reviews on Glassdoor about AirWatch sound a little too made-up. Unless you get a REALLY good pay and I mean really good pay, don't join AirWatch. Trust me there are much better companies in Atlanta and better people to work for.....
