Two round of Zoom Video Interviews, back to back. They mentioned that there would be 5 rounds, however I failed to get pass initial round.
First round - was on Test automation, even though position was for senior manager, most of the questions was of senior engineer, lead engineer level. Interviewer tend to listen and like to what he believed is correct, rather than what should be correct in-principle. Interviewers background was in Mobile testing so he unnecessarily asked many mobile automation question which was not a primary requirement in JD. Questions like what to do in your automation code to make it faster, Java or JavaScript which is better, design a test report (how to design, put a technical design), reverse a Java stack without recursion etc. should not be asked for a senior manager position where organisation is looking for leader to run a team, provide good technical solutions for automation (not necessarily a coder), can provide good RoI, communicate and connect well with Business, provide good cadence to team to interact with higher management. So maybe it's much required to educate the interviewer, who might have just graduated from Lead level to an entry level manager.
On Round 2 - It was taken by seasoned manager and appropriate questions were asked
Astonishingly recruiter never came back despite me mailing them multiple times, This positions was for Sam's club team in Bangalore
