Entretien
The first stage of the interview process was an interview with a recruiter - he was very professional and clearly with a lot of experience in his area. He concentrated on my personality type, working style and also tried to establish what was important for me in my career and what I was looking for in my future job and employer. This interview was very professional yet at the same time flew so naturally that at times it felt like a casual conversation - great experience overall.
The next stage was an interview with the team manager - she was in her 20s and clearly with very little experience in interviewing people and poor communication and people skills. It seemed that she read my CV for the first time during the interview and that she read interview questions from her laptop screen at the same time, while half lying on the desk. Some of the questions sounded rather ridiculous considering my 10 year long professional experience, e.g. how do you manage your inbox? During the interview and later when she offered me the job (for a salary way below the market standards but appropriate for recent college graduates), she essentially stated that my experience and skills gained over 10 years were of no value but she is "ready to take the risk" and hire me - a very poor choice of "motives" trying to justify such a low salary. She also stated that I reminded her of herself at the start of her career - again, a quite unfortunate way to attempt to gain an experienced person on board. That conversation made me realise that not only has she poor communication and leadership skills (wouldn't want to even imagine working with such a person in one team) but this is probably also the culture within the company itself - definitely not something that I would like to be part of.
