Nearly 3 million Ohioans are enrolled in Medicaid — including 3 in 8 children. For families like the Wards, who’ve fostered six children near Columbus, Medicaid has been a lifeline. When sisters Delilah and Arabella came into their care, both girls faced serious health challenges. Delilah needed open-heart surgery. Arabella couldn't sit or stand on her own. Thanks to Medicaid, both received life-changing care, from dental surgery and cardiology to speech and physical therapy. Today, they’re thriving. And soon, they’ll be adopted into a forever home. The Ward family’s story is one of compassion, resilience — and how access to health care makes all the difference. Medicaid works. For children. For families. For Ohio. “Giving up is not an option.” Angelica Ouk was just 29 and recently finished breastfeeding her second child when she noticed a change in her breast. What started as a discoloration led to imaging, biopsies — and a diagnosis: triple negative breast cancer. With two young boys at home, she chose to fight — and she’s doing it with strength, grace, and the full support of her Mount Carmel Grove City care team.
