On National Donor Remembrance Day, April 30, we proudly dedicated the Wall of Heroes at Mount Carmel East. This beautiful tribute honors the selfless individuals who have given the gift of organ, tissue, or sight donation, transforming lives and embodying the spirit of generosity. Each bird on this wall represents a Hero or Hero in Spirit, reminding us of the profound impact of their decision to give life to others. In partnership with Lifeline of Ohio and the Central Ohio Eye Bank, we celebrate these heroes and their legacy.
April is Donate Life Month, a time to honor the incredible organ, eye, and tissue donors who have saved lives through their selfless gifts. A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated the heroes from Mount Carmel East, Mount Carmel Grove City, and Mount Carmel St. Ann’s hospitals. Our cafeterias served their favorite meals in their honor: - Mount Carmel East: ReMarcus “Markey” Smith Heagler - Mount Carmel Grove City: Rusty Dillow - Mount Carmel St. Ann's: Blake Justice Join us in recognizing these amazing individuals and spreading awareness about the importance of donation.
A big thank you to everyone at Mount Carmel New Albany who contributed to our very first donation drive! Led by Dana Thompson and Mike Bell, the drive brought in an incredible collection of items to support those in need. We’re grateful to our team for always stepping up and making a difference. This is what the Mount Carmel Mission in action looks like.
April is National Volunteer Month and we want to celebrate some of the individuals who give their time and hearts to serve others at our hospitals. Today, we’re celebrating Maria Wolf, a Mount Carmel St. Ann’s volunteer in the NICU and at our main information desk. Encouraged by a friend, Maria joined the NICU volunteer team because of her love for babies, and it was a perfect fit. Twice a week, she helps create a quiet, nurturing space for our tiniest patients. You’ll also find her at the front desk, offering a warm welcome and helpful guidance to everyone who walks through our doors. Whether it’s calming a newborn or comforting a family member, Maria’s presence makes a difference. Thank you, Maria, for your compassion, consistency, and commitment to our community.
