Fueling the future in Pilot Country! SSOE's Brandon Schneider, a proud UP alum, generously volunteered his time to mentor University of Portland seniors in ASHRAE's Net Zero Energy Design Competition. He guided students as they tackled transforming a real-world building into a net-zero energy structure while adhering to strict budget and lifecycle cost constraints. The students recently unveiled their eco-innovations at senior open house—perfectly timed as they prepare to branch out into the real world. This is the fourth year we've supported the senior design project with our longstanding partner (Go Pilots!). #SSOEportland #chooseSSOE #WorldEnvironmentDay
Paws for a Cause. Mental health is serious business, so we brought in the big dogs: man’s best friend. As part of our mental health awareness initiatives, we welcomed adoptable pups from Toledo Animal Rescue to our global headquarters for a mid-day “paws” to de-stress and reconnect. The Paws Smoke N’ Grill food truck served up treats for both people and pups, with donations made for every dog treat purchased. #chooseSSOE #SSOEcares #MentalHealthAwareness
We're excited to debut at the AAAE Annual Conference next week at Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center, showcasing our integrated airport design expertise. The proof is in the numbers. For the eighth year, SSOE has earned Great Place To Work certification—surpassing the industry benchmark with 92% of employees affirming our people-first culture, compared to 57% at the average U.S. company. For us, this badge of honor reflects who we are, but also where we’re headed. SSOE’s Brad Rowe, Senior Vice President of People & Culture, quoted within. #PressRelease #chooseSSOE
This Pride Month, SSOE’s LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group celebrates the strength we find in one another. Our 2025 theme, CommUNITY through PRIDE, reminds us that inclusion means more than policy. It’s about meaningful connection, grounded in our mission-driven acronym: PRIDE—People Respecting Identities, Diversity, and Equality—which also gives our Employee Resource Group its name. Community is where we find courage, support, and belonging. At SSOE no one stands alone, because in unity, we’re stronger. In community, we thrive together. #PrideMonth #chooseSSOE
This is not a fire drill! At our Nashville office, competition runs deep—and when there’s a challenge, we step up to the plate (sometimes literally). When the office hosted a Nashville Hot Chicken contest featuring the legendary Prince's Hot Chicken, nine brave souls dared to face the flames. Only four scorch-proof legends made it through every round without a sip of mercy. It was all good fun (and a little sweat) as we stepped away from the screens to test our limits. Deadlines or Carolina Reapers, this team can bring the heat. #SSOEsoutheast #chooseSSOE
As we reflect this Memorial Day, we honor the legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage endures in the liberties we safeguard and the freedoms we cherish today. To support their legacies, SSOE is donating $5,000 to Folds of Honor, which provides scholarships to the families of fallen and disabled service members, and we pledge to match employee donations—up to an additional $5,000. #MemorialDay #SSOEcares
On Sunday, we joined the American Heart Association of Northwest Ohio’s Heart Walk at Promenade Park in downtown Toledo, taking steps to fight heart disease—the leading cause of death in the U.S. Our team walked Memory Lane and Survivor’s Lane, proudly stepping up to reach our fundraising goal. As a heart disease survivor, CEO Vince DiPofi, PE has been a passionate advocate, serving on the nonprofit’s board since 2019, board chair from 2022–2023, and now stepping into the role of next year's Heart Walk chair. #SSOEmidwest #SSOEcares
A true class act. The SSOE Foundation sponsored The University of Toledo’s Doing Right Scholarship and celebrates this year’s recipient, Chiemerie Izuchukwu. A passionate STEM student, her journey from Nigeria to UToledo reflects our core values and vision. As valedictorian of her senior secondary school, she spent four days a week tutoring struggling students, creating meaningful change through small acts of kindness. Chiemerie recently paused her studies (and long-term pursuit of founding a nonprofit) to visit our world headquarters, where she met CEO Vince DiPofi and expressed her gratitude to SSOE for supporting her journey. #SSOEmidwest #SSOEcares
SSOE's Nashville office recently got into the swing of things with its 4th annual putt-putt tournament. The event was a hole-in-one, with the office transformed into a creative nine-hole mini-golf course, each designed by our talented employees, offering a perfect blend of reprieve and camaraderie. Our work perks are always above par, but Structural Engineer Logan Tuck's stroke of genius clinched the win with just 29 strokes. #SSOEsoutheast #chooseSSOE
