Avantages

AstraZeneca offers a very competitive salary and great benefits. It was hard for me to leave the company because of this but the old saying is true "money doesn't buy happiness". Neither does good benefits.

Inconvénients

I was so excited to be working for a major pharmaceutical firm. My excited quickly turned to dispair. I was miserable working at AstraZeneca. It is a highly competitive environment. Most of the people that I worked with there were backstabbing snobs. I did a great job but it never seemed to be enough. If you are not aligned with the right people you have no future and cannot advance or even get a raise. I wanted a job, not to get back into high school cliques. Communication from management was almost non-existent. There are too many levels of management. If you cannot play the office politics game you will not make it here.

Avantages

I imagine this is very dependent on line management but I find my team and supervisors to be true champions of a high performing and highly compassionate work culture. I find my work challenging and rewarding, and have had opportunities to learn and grow and be rewarded and recognized for my output. No job is perfect but I’m truly happy to work here and at a time when AZ is truly rising like a rocket.

Inconvénients

Like any massive global corporate entity, things can sometimes move slowly and it can be challenging to navigate a high number of constantly evolving priorities and initiatives. That being said, AZ is very clear about its north stars and values which makes it possible to prioritize work that has the most impact and alignment with the company’s ambition and business prerogatives. 60% office attendance policy is also a bit funny when oftentimes I am on Teams calls with colleagues sitting in other areas of the world.
