My resume was passed on to the hiring manager by a fellow b-school alum who works at Adobe with whom I conducted an informational interview. About 2 weeks later the recruiter cold called me for a phone screen interview. From there I had a 90 minute phone interview with the hiring manger. I was told I would have 3 other phone interviews before an on-site, but was invited on-site after just 1 additional phone interview. There was a lot of rescheduling, the recruiter taking days to get back and then calling to ask if I could do an interview an hour later, etc., so it still took 2 months to get on-site. The on-site interview was the longest in-person interview I've ever had: 10AM-4PM with 8 separate interviews. The worst part was that the hiring manger conducted an interview in the cafeteria at lunch. I bombed questions like "how would you go about expanding into Germany?" and "how would you target millennials?" because I was so distracted by the conversations and noise around us. I knew at that point that I wouldn't be receiving an offer, but it still took 2 weeks to hear anything from the recruiter. I was put back in the pipeline for other roles, but the recruiter failed to call me for the phone screen he scheduled. I took an offer at Google instead.
