I had an initial call with the recruiter and after that he scheduled the ATS (video call) round. I took up the ATS round on July 17, 2018. This was a 90 minute technical screening. At the end of this round, the interviewer said that recruiter would get back to me within 7 days. I waited for almost 20 days and then reached out to the recruiter. The recruiter said that I have cleared the ATS round and he has shared my scores to different teams in Sunrise, Florida office. After 10 days, I again reached out to the recruiter to check if there was any update. I didn't get any response. I waited for 2 days and then again sent out a mail to him. He then replied to my mail asking my location preference. I had given my location preference during my initial call itself and I don't know what they had been doing for a month. When I gave him the location preference, he says he will get back to me. Again, there is no response from his side. It was close to 2 months already and I send out another mail to the recruiter asking him to provide an update. He replies to mail my immediately stating that it was his last working day at Amex and had looped another recruiter in the mail! After this, I started reaching out to the new recruiter in charge. I had to literally send out 3 to 4 mails to get a single response from him. His response would always be the same, that he is yet to hear from the teams. This continued for a month and it was 3 months since I had taken up my first technical round. After 3 months, I receive a mail from Cloud Partners. This is supposed to a firm that has been engaged with Amex to identify ways to improve the hiring process and candidate experience for Amex. I briefed them about my interview process. They said they would look into this issue and provide an update to me at the earliest. And today, after 4 and half months, I have no update from the Amex recruiter or Cloud Partners. So, they never got back to me even after they had told me that I had cleared the first round. This, definitely been the worst experience so far. I have never seen a process like this before. Their hiring process has to be improved!
