The first round of the American Express Analyst interview had multiple subsections. It began with deep-dive questions from my resume, mainly focused on Python and Machine Learning, where I was asked to explain my projects and then answer technical ML-related questions along with some Python syntax queries. Since I had Power Bl mentioned in my resume, they also asked about dashboards and KPIs. After this, the interview moved to a puzzles section, where most of the questions were similar to the well-known sets like GeeksforGeeks top 150. Finally, there was a SQL round that tested practical query skills, with good questions on window functions, joins across three tables, group by, and related concepts

First we had to attend a session in what ch a few mentors spoke of their experience and why Amex. Then we had to answer some basic questions from the session after which we got shortlisted for a focus group. Students were then shortlisted for interview process.
