30 minute phone interview with HR explaining about the role, what it entails and a bit about the Company and what they do, followed by typical interview questions.
They explained that after the phone interview, there's going to be 2 more rounds, which includes a Skype call with a partner in Toronto, followed by an onsite interview with the team. The interviewer literally walked me through every step and sounded like she was really interested in me, making me feel like I really landed the job. I followed up a week later to inquire about next steps and received no reply. Out of the blue, two weeks later, I received a response that they were discussing with upper management and that I should hear back within a week. A week after that, the post was taken down and the role was changed from "Law Clerk" to "Senior Law Clerk", so they must have decided on a whim that they required someone with more seniority to take on the role despite me having the qualifications already for what they were originally looking for.
I kind of wished they sent a quick email to say, "hey, sorry, we are looking for someone with a more senior level" rather than having to find out through job search functions. And if they weren't going to hire me, don't tell me I should hear back within a week.
