Submitted my CV which had no DOB or photo. Got an intverview with some higher up, it was just the two of us. The moment I logged in on Zoom she gasped about how young I am, and how surprised she is that HR even approved the interview. I knew it then and there that this would be a waste of my time. It was followed by some low effort, very general intrerview questions. The interviewer repeatedly shared her opinion about my age & gender like "you have clearly achieved a lot by your age" or beginning a sentence like "a young woman like you." And she was suggesting that I apply to a lower position, because I'm so young and have time before I assume responsibilities at such a big company like Citi. It was ridiculous, my professional background which actually generously met the requirements was very obviously disregarded. I learnt my lesson and will not apply to Citi again, and I don't recommend you applying either unless you're a 50+ white male who only worked in corporate, then it's probably the place for you.
