Was a simple online application process, where you upload a cover letter and your CV. Can apply at any time of the year, although I had to wait 2 months because my preferred centre was fully staffed.
Had a phone interview, mainly asking about my experience and why I wanted to work with Explore Learning. Was very relaxed and was invited to recruitment afternoon at end of phone call.
A few weeks later, attended recruitment afternoon. The group activity is very simple, and everybody got the chance to voice their ideas. The Maths/English test was fine too, it doesn't surpass KS3 level and is used to assess your knowledge. The interview gives them a better idea of your passion, experience and professionalism.
Finally, the observation is the MOST IMPORTANT thing. They want to see you are passionate about working with children first hand, and possess the qualities they are looking for in a tutor. So things like positivity, enthusiasm, fun, being sociable and able to do more than just help children get the right answer.

The interview essentially asked me how to answer a few basic maths and grammar questions. It wasn't particularly difficult, but it is important to know that you must be able to explain how to answer a question or how to break and answer down so that a learner can follow the steps.
