5 rounds of interviews, all were very easy but also long, final interview seemed very promising and was followed by an email saying a decision would be soon but still seemed very positive and promising …then i was ghosted for almost 2 weeks, chased recruiter and then a rejection call was scheduled. Very upsetting scenario as each stage seemed very promising and seemed to go very well. Also being rejected on a scheduled call was very confusing and disheartening as usually done in an email. Would advise them to streamline recruiting process with a test brief rather than meeting so many people, as well as keeping candidates in the loop.

      - 30-minute interview with Talent Acquisition Specialist - 45-minute interview with Hiring Manager - 45-minute interview with Lead Writer - 45-minute interview with Senior Art Director - 45-minute interview with Associate Creative Director Overall I enjoyed my conversations with the hiring team at GoDaddy, although five stages seemed a bit more intense than I’m used to for a role of this kind. I got a really good vibe from each person I spoke to and my experience seemed to align well with their requirements for the role. In my final interview with the Associate Creative Director, he mentioned that I would “be a great fit” – something I found a little odd to say at this stage of the recruitment process considering no decision had been made. I had my final interview on a Monday and on the Tuesday evening, the recruiter emailed to say that the hiring team needed a few more days to make a final decision. The email also stated "In the meantime, take a minute to experience the #GoDaddyLife by following us on these platforms”. This is something else I found a bit odd as don’t really want to “experience the #GoDaddyLife” and then not get the job. Another week went by and I still hadn’t heard anything so I chased the recruiter up, who said she still had no update. I really wish the decision could have been made sooner and that I could have been kept in the loop over why the decision was taking so long. It was two weeks until I had a response when I had a phone call from the recruiter. I’m not sure when the norm shifted, but I would advise companies to only phone the successful candidate and email the unsuccessful ones. I didn’t receive any specific feedback about the interviews so I’m not sure why the rejection needed to be done over the phone. Perhaps it’s a UK thing, but if you phone a candidate over here, they will assume you’re about to offer them the job. Naturally I’m left disappointed and a little confused with no feedback and a Creative Director who told me I would be a great fit for the role.
