Firstly, I'd like to appreciate the HR who was accommodating with the reschedule of this interview. The first step in this process was a technical round which was a teams interview. When I joined the interview via teams, I found that the interviewer did not have their camera turned ON which is not that big a deal but I found it unprofessional. The interviewer starts with asking about my experience, then says I have to complete a coding test. He asks me to open an IDE in my computer. Note that I was not at all communicated about having an IDE setup in my computer, I was under the assumption that they would provide me with a platform to write code for the coding test. Luckily, I had an IDE installed in my computer. I opened it and started with my coding. I asked a couple of questions and asked him if he wants to explain my approach, he says "it is your wish!!" then he goes on mute. While he was on mute, I keep explaining each step and the time/space complexity but there was no acknowledgement or nothing from the other end, just radio silence (still on mute). It took me close to 7 minutes to complete the code and run it. Unfortunately, I could not run my code because of an IDE glitch. Now I try to fix the glitch but I could not get my code to run. After a couple of minutes, the interviewer unmutes and tells me I am taking a lot of time. Then he asks me to create a new environment to run my code, which worked. What bothers me is that, he has been watching me all along struggling with the glitch yet he did not say a word or try to help me. My code worked perfectly fine with just the two line question he gave me with no testcases. Then he asks me to paste the code on the chat window. Till now he hasn't asked anything about the approach or the time/space complexity. Then he moves on to asking me some technical questions which he probably has stored somewhere in his computer with answers. He was not ready to understand my version of the answer, all he wanted me was to say words that he had in his interview question and answers sheet. He kept reading the answers for the questions from the document after my answers. Overall disappointing experience!
