      2-14 Applied online 2-16 Took online assessment test 2-22 Phone Interview and background check email received 2-25 Background check initiated 2-28 Face to face interview 3-1 Email from recruiting, interview went well but still waiting on results of background check 3-5 Offer Application/Assessment----------- Applying online was easy. The assessment test was also simple. I do not do well with math questions when I have the pressure of the clock. Answer the best you can and move on. At the end of the test you can go back to previous questions. If you have enough time, I would recommend this as you are no longer racing against the clock, which removes the pressure in my opinion. Phone Interview----------- I prepped by going to Progressive’s website. I read about the history, leader ship, core values. Seriously, click every link and read everything you can. Be prepared to answer the question “Why Progressive?” I also began researching the STAR format and sample questions. The interview was okay. I was a little discouraged in the beginning. It is very formal. But as time went by my interviewer became a little more personable. The STAR format is extremely important. Once or twice my interviewer had to remind me to be SPECIFIC and talk about SPECIFIC scenarios. They are not interested in general responses. Make sure you have questions at the end. Never ask anything that can be answered by a google search. My favorite part of the interview was the portion where I could ask her questions. She became very open and I could tell she really does enjoy working there. Face to Face Interview----------- Click those links in the email that the recruiter sends you. Take advantage of all those resources. I prepped by reading as many STAR questions as I could on the glassdoor website. I jotted down scenarios to reference if needed in the interview. My interviewer was extremely nice. They had a great sense of humor and really took the pressure off. The interview was just a little over an hour. Others on this site have mentioned panel interviews and sitting with a rep. This was not the case for me, maybe it varies by region or is a format no longer used. My interviewer gave me a brief tour through the building and through the call center departments. I walked away feeling like this was a positive experience overall, regardless if I would get an offer or not.

      I submitted my application and then got invited to complete a HireVue interview. It was about eight questions, all requiring STAR style responses. After I finished the interview, I received a rejection email. I honestly hate when companies play in people’s faces like this. What was the point of making me do an online interview if you already decided based on my resume? If you weren’t interested from the start, just say that. I have very little respect for companies that reject people through recorded online interviews, without ever allowing them to speak to a real person. It feels less like recruiting and more like a way to collect personal data our voices, our faces, without any real intention of moving forward.

      Straight forward typical call center interview. Initial interview was a phone screening where the recruiter asked for a background description of my resume. Two days later I interviewed with a supervisor and hiring manager. Entire process took about 2 weeks to receive job offer.

      Recruiter was rude, emailed me an hour before my interview and asked if I was available right now. I quickly responded and said that I could be ready in 20 mins sighting that our original interview was not for another hour. Upon the interview he made a comment about not being able to drop everything and start the interview an hour early. I had inquired about a religion question and holidays that differ from normal US holidays and he said yeah that wouldn't really align with our values. I should have sued. He sighted on my after interview report that I didn't have the experience he was looking for (which was a lie).
