My CV was sent to Valeo via an employee referral, who is a friend. I got contacted in a matter of three weeks with a set date for my first screening phase which was in a 5 days time. This phase was a 2-hours technical exam, then after passing it a 1.5 hours english exam. After passing these two exams, I was handed a job application to be filled, it felt like I was writing my CV all over again (Note: Prepare two recommendation numbers because they ask for them in the application.)
Shortly after filling the application, an interviewer called my name, a team leader, who interviewed me for about 45 minutes. The weight of the questions was distributed between C Programming and Embedded Systems. He cared in the C Programming part that I prove that I am able to code, come up with good algorithms, and understand C coding tricks. As for the Embedded Systems, he wanted to know that I understand my microcontrollers. He wanted to make sure that I understand how interrupts work and how serial communications work, etc.
After finishing the tech interview, I was told to wait for a couple of minutes, after which I was contacted by an HR officer who scheduled my HR interview in the following week.
The HR interview in its own self wasn't that bad as far as my experience goes. They want to get a balanced employee who is self motivated and willing to stay in the company. I was interviewed by a Senior HR Officer, and at times it felt like I am being squeezed for answers, but it went out okay and I was told to wait for the verdict within two weeks.
I had to wait for the verdict of the HR interview for more than a month, but the delay in my batch was a special case not the default.
I met with the R&D Director who asked some simple questions. And I was contacted with an offer in two business days after the last interview.
