It brings us joy to feature Diana Elias, MBA, SPHR in this week’s culture series. Diana is the Director of Human Resources (HR) at ABL. You cannot convince anyone that she's only been with us for 4 months because her efforts have been SOOO impactful. Diana has brightened up our culture (already) by providing a caring voice for the wellbeing of our workforce. She is responsive and an advocate for cross-functional collaboration, one being the collaboration between Marketing and HR for talent acquisition. She has passion for developing ABL’s employer value proposition and wants to foster teamwork and an environment where we lift each other up. Diana and her team drive ABL’s employee engagement strategy and HR program execution that meet corporate goals and objectives. Diana wants to help ABL shine amongst other CDMO/CRO’s in Rockville, MD. As cliché as it sounds, she believes that we are stronger and accomplish so much when we are together. Diana has tons of hobbies! She loves to hike, travel, kayak, garden, play video/computer games, hangout with my family, bake and cook.

Let's welcome Cassandra Garner to this week’s much deserved culture series highlight. Cassandra is a Quality Assurance (QA) Documentation and Training Supervisor at ABL. ABL employees know her as early as our 1st week of hire during orientation as she trains incoming employees on routine QA record keeping and cGMP compliance. She'll send frequent email reminders to employees to complete/update QA trainings and provides refresher training and presentations on cGMP, non-GMP and aseptic processing. Cassandra holds 6 years QA experience in #biotech maintaining Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), performing root-cause analysis, liaising with functional departments and supporting FDA and EMA regulatory and client audits and inspections. At ABL, Cassandra has successfully accomplished the implementation of EDMS “Ennov” company-wide, allowing us to create/revise/retire QA e-documents and track employee QA training progress. Cassandra also ensures retrieval of personnel training and qualifications to support internal/external audits and regulatory inspections.
In many instances, ABL is the catalyst to life-changing innovation because we enable the client to meet key milestones of their clinical programs and ultimately get into the clinic in a cost effective manner—which is key to their mission. Learn more about ABL: https://ablinc.com
As is the case with all upstream equipment and capabilities, ABL’s downstream systems including AKTA pure and AKTA pilot (equipment as well as software) are mirrored in our GMP manufacturing suites. This further assists in the ability to execute a seamless and repeatable scale-up model for production final product. Learn more: https://ablinc.com/process-development/
All incoming materials are received, inspected and entered into the inventory management system in the warehouse area. Upon receipt, materials are stored at the required and designated temperature – and labeled as quarantined – until all required testing has been completed for release. ABL is uniquely positioned in the market to fill viral vector products for clinical use. That is not a common capability in the market today. Having the all-inclusive capabilities to provide both the live virus Drug Substance as well as the final filled Drug Product at the same facility, further confirms ABL’s ability to provide a timely and efficient solution for our clients.
