Meet Puja Patel, a Product Sales and Application Specialist in Australia. One of Puja’s most meaningful contributions at GE HealthCare was conducting post-installation applications for a mammography machine at a small clinic in Northern New South Wales. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from the clinic’s team and patients underscored the tangible impact of this work. “Knowing that the technology enhanced diagnostic capabilities and improved patient care gave me a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment,” she says. Outside of work, Puja is an avid reader who loves exploring and volunteering. Her dream is to travel and see the Northern Lights. We are delighted to have Puja on our team, proving that from day one, #EveryRoleIsVital
Reflecting on Earth Day last month, we're reminded that patient and planet health are two sides of the same coin. GE HealthCare focuses on circularity, a model that includes repairing, refurbishing, and recycling. By doing this, we make sure that every piece of GE HealthCare equipment has a longer, more sustainable lifespan. Our latest milestones include: Repair: Collected over 16,000 parts and repaired over 81,000 more. Reuse and recycle: Reused 428 MR magnets and diverted 8,182 metric tons of material. By embedding these principles, we continue to conserve resources to protect the health of future generations. Click the video below to learn more about the work we do to ensure a more sustainable future.
At GE HealthCare, we believe that a healthier planet is just as important as healthy patients. To celebrate Earth Day, we’re spotlighting our Lifecycle Solutions team, who continue to make a conscious effort to extend the life of GE HealthCare’s equipment. From environmental conscious design to circular product strategies, this team works hard to extend the life of imaging equipment that current customers already own. So far, we have successfully reused 7.8M kg of recovered units, recovered 474,943kg of landfill weight, and recovered 8,050 kg of system units. As Roshy Francis, our SVP of R&D, says: “By embedding circular principles into design, we conserve resources today - helping preserve health and well-being for generations to come.” From design to recycling, we are committed to creating a more sustainable future of healthcare. We recently hosted a Hackathon with students at Centrale Lyon in France to address one of the biggest challenges in modern medicine: AI in Radiology. Scoring an incredible 4.5/5 in mentor quality, our leaders helped students from France’s top engineering schools design AI-driven tools to reduce radiologist burnout. By automating administrative tasks, these students are helping clinicians refocus on clinical decision-making and patient outcomes. At GE HealthCare, we don’t just talk about the future of medical technology — we build it alongside the brightest young minds in the field, and we’ve already identified 8 high-potential profiles for our future internship and early-career funnels. The future of radiology is bright, and we can’t wait to see how these emerging leaders will continue to help shape the care of tomorrow.
Reflecting on International Women’s Day, we’re taking a moment to spotlight Nicole DeBeck, our Accelerator Technician in Cyclotron Operations at our Arlington Heights site! With a background as a U.S. Navy Nuclear Machinist Mate, she joined GE HealthCare, driven by a passion for complex automated systems. Today, she’s taking ownership of vital rebuilds and collaborating with engineering on process improvements. “I leave work knowing my effort goes beyond the walls of the facility and has a direct impact on the lives of those in need,” she says. Whether she’s fine-tuning a cyclotron or hiking and fishing in her downtime, she proves that with a growth mindset, #EveryRoleIsVital. Today, we celebrate the women at GE HealthCare who are redefining the future of health. Thank you for all you do! Click Nicole's image to view her blog on her journey at GE HealthCare.
Introducing Wenjing Hou, a Senior Program Manager within our Monitoring Solutions (MS) team in Wuxi, China. With a remarkable 14-year tenure at GE HealthCare, Wenjing’s journey is a wonderful story of career mobility and the power of saying yes. Having started her career in Sourcing, Wenjing first joined GE HealthCare to deepen her expertise. Since then, her growth has been exponential. In 2019, she pivoted to a Program Manager role, a move she credits to the encouragement of her mentors, Rajesh and Ma Yu, who inspired her to “follow her heart” and “run your own shop”. Wenjing has successfully delivered seven New Product Introductions (NPIs) and recently earned the Wuxi Site Best Program Manager award. Outside of the office, Wenjing carries the title of "Super Mum." Whether she is raising her two children, hiking, or looking after her two dogs, she brings the same energy to her family as she does to our products. “GE HealthCare provides a DEI culture that inspires women to grow alongside the business,” says Wenjing. “The flexibility to balance work and life has been the most important factor for me.” We are delighted to support leaders like Wenjing who prove that with the right culture, you can truly "win together and have fun."
Meet Diego, a Field Service Engineer specializing in MRI modality in Chile. When Diego joined us in 2021, he had no prior experience in the imaging field. Through a combination of rigorous training, long study hours, and a drive to learn, he has transformed into an expert ensuring our hospital partners have the technology they need to succeed. “GE HealthCare has supported my growth from day one”, ' Diego says. “My greatest contribution to our patients is allowing them to obtain accurate, timely, and quality diagnoses.” Diego’s journey has recently taken him from Santiago to India for advanced MRI training, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for him. At GE HealthCare, we are committed to fostering a culture where #EveryRoleIsVital and every colleague has the space to grow.
