Interviewed for Associate Solutions Architect role through AWS's program called Tech U. Applied in October 2019, didn't hear back until February 2020. The whole process consisted of two sets of interviews. The first was a 45-minute technical screen, and then the second set was a 15 minute presentation followed by three 45-minute interviews.
First 45-minute interview was a combination of behavioral and technical questions, with more of an emphasis on technical questions. I was asked high level conceptual questions about programming, databases, networking, and security. Nothing too complex, and no coding. Received feedback from first round within 48 hours.
After the first round, I was scheduled for the second and final set of interviews. First, there was a 15-minute presentation where I could present on any technical topic. No PowerPoint or slides, just diving deep into something technical you worked on. After some questions about my presentation, the first 45-minute session began. Was mainly questions focused on Amazon's LP. The second round was a deep dive on two specific projects from my resume. Then the third and final round was strictly technical questions from the same list of programming, databases, networking, and security. Again, no coding. Received feedback from final round within 4 days.
I highly recommend preparing a few stories for each LP, focus on the System Design Primer (resource can be found on Google), and knowing your resume VERY well.
