This is not for the faint of heart or pretenders. External candidates will go through an extensive interview process. If you make it through an initial phone screen, you will go through what they call a "Pod." There you will be grilled by no less than 4 senior managers with varying experiences within the company. They will be asking almost entirely behavior-based questions, comparing every response the candidate provides to the Leadership Principles that the company culture truly eats and breaths in most decisions. There may be a math problem given to you in advance that only one interviewer will bring up in their conversation and the candidate should be prepared to resolve the problem with different variables on the spot. Answers will be expected to be given in the STAR format (look it up if not familiar). A good candidate answer will use quantifiable data that drove results while embodying several of the leadership principles at once. Everything that you mention will be written down and later compared amongst all of the interviewers, so if you tell the same story twice - make sure your numbers and details are the same. (Best strategy is to have plenty of stories prepared to avoid repeats.) Once the Pod discusses the answers you gave, each member gives either a thumbs up or thumbs down. You need all 4+ members unanimously thumbs up to get "inclined." This means that the team concluded that you are a fit to raise the bar within the company. You will find out within 1 week of the interview either way it goes, usually sooner. Just because you are "inclined" does not guarantee an immediate offer, nor does a "decline" mean all hope is lost. Inclines are sometimes put on a waiting lists with a pending offer due to personnel moves going on internally. Declines are sometimes found to be a better fit for another position and get pointed to a different section of the company. They will clearly tell you if that is the case.

Assessment, written assessment, four interviews. It was a simple but lengthy process. You will interview with four different individuals, not a panel. So be prepared for a few hours spending 30-40 minutes each. Even if you nail one two or three, if one interview doesn’t go as smooth it can cause you to not get an offer.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Three part questions, and what did you learn? Even if your example was spot on with the situation task action and result they still want you to provide an explanation of what you would do differently. Be prepared for this question after examples for every interviewer. They want details and exact data and numbers.

The interview process was professional, well-organized, and focused heavily on Amazon’s Leadership Principles. I completed multiple rounds of interviews that included behavioral questions requiring detailed examples using the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) format. Interviewers were engaged, asked thoughtful follow-up questions, and seemed genuinely interested in understanding my leadership experience and decision-making process. The most challenging aspect of the process was the depth of behavioral questioning. Candidates should be prepared with specific examples related to leadership, conflict resolution, process improvement, customer focus, and delivering results. Communication throughout the process was timely, and expectations were clearly outlined. While the interview experience was demanding, it provided a fair opportunity to demonstrate skills and experience. Overall, I found the process to be thorough, professional, and reflective of the company’s high standards for leadership roles.
