J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Capital One (Reston, VA) en févr. 2025
Entretien
Recruiter screen, hiring manager interview, power day interviews (2 behavioral, 1 system design, 1 coding, 1 case interview)
Red flag 1 - The titles at Capital One are inflated. Senior Engineering Manager role is more toward coding and being hands-on within a small team. No scope for managing multiple teams, mentoring, setting strategic vision and technology roadmap.
Red flag 2 - Cookie cutter interview templates which does not assess your skill sets.
Red flag 3 - Coding interview was set-up for failure, the assessment tool did not have IntelliSense, not allowed to check for syntax online while sharing screen. I did not understand the interviewer's logic to expect candidate to remember syntax and how it correlated to the candidate's abilities/skills. The problem was copy pasted on the solution file itself rather than presenting that as a separate panel. I had trouble scrolling back and forth.
