The interview process is incredibly challenging. If you have not studied business or you haven't done case interviews before, definitely focus on learning how to case interview, particularly for the 2 consulting cases you'll get at PowerDay. These cases are not common for any other PM interview.
In terms of the process, you will likely have 4-6 rounds involving a recruiter screening call, calls with various hiring managers, a Product case on one of Capital One's products, and a Powerday consisting of 4 interviews. The Powerday will have 2 consulting cases, a product case study, and a deep dive into your own Product experience. In my opinion, all the rounds leading up to the Power Day are manageable particularly if you do your research/preparation. My advice is to:
1. Focus your efforts on learning how to case interview for consulting and product management.
2. Ask questions before diving into any case.
3. Share your screen especially if you are typing notes so the interviewer can follow.
Pros
- Excellent compensation especially if you are in financial services as a PM
- Excellent company benefits
- Transparency (I knew the salary range from day 1 and if I made it to the next round on the same day for each interview)
- Awesome company culture
Cons
- Incredibly challenging interview process, especially the Consulting cases. I had to run over 25 cases to feel prepared.
- Time-consuming, process can take 1-2 months depending on availability
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Q: Walk me through your experience in Product Management.
The interview process consisted of 1 phone interview, 1 interview with a person at capital one, and 3- 4 hours of interviews for case review. The super day interviews were 2 cases with math and 2 more behavioral/walk me through your experience interviews.

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you had to take the lead on a project as an associate PM.
Almost a 3 month process. I wouldn't recommend continuing to Power Day unless you're ready for the time investment it will take to prepare. Also keep in mind they put a lot of weight towards the quant questions
