After reading HireVue terms and conditions I declined to proceed and I never heard back from the recruiter. Think of this way—you are invited for a face to face interview and when you reach you are told that interviewers had a last minute meeting. All is still as planned, only change is that you will be given questions and your responses will be recorded. Recording will be made available to interviewers at their convenience. You are also asked to sign some privacy statements and waive your rights to the recordings.Sounds like a deposition ? Well this is what HireVue is, only difference is that you can be in this deposition from he convenience of your house and use a webcam. The recruiter gave her spiel about how it is for my own convenience etc etc My take is if a recruiter doesn't have basic courtesy to pick up the damn phone and speak to the candidate then she should get out of recruiting.
