      Entretien

I have done the first stage (questionnaire) and passed. It was an ethical questionnaire with answers from Greatly Disagree to Greatly Agree. It was not difficult that being said the follow up for the rest of the interview process has been quiet so I'm just waiting, not good.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Lots of questions about me in situations. It was mainly ethicla reasoning

Writing my statement so that other candidates don't flush this great opportunity like I did. Contacted by sourcer which placed some simple technical questions (web, unix). Then phone call with engineer with more in-depth technical questions (system design, data formats comparision, client-facing situation, problem-solving). Then two 45-min hangouts interviews: a) coding, b) peer. On peer interview, questions about some google products, how to avoid certain pages to show up on ads, client-facing situations, HTTP, crawling, explain technologies stated on my resumé. I did good here. On coding, two basic exercises (strings and arrays). I took more than 30 min to deliver both solutions, with one or two bugs (the interviewer pointed the lines, and I fixed). I was slow and revealed that I was nervous. I suspect another exercise was coming and, since I haven't got there, a red flag was raised. Make sure you're used to program without a compiler, and exercise a couple of timed training interviews with some colleagues. Strengthen basics, I was prepared for maze finding problems and minimum spanning tree in graphs, when I was simply asked to merge strings...

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Google (Amsterdam) en août 2025

      Entretien

After the recruiter screening there were 3 rounds. First was knowledge assessment on web-technologies, second was hiring manager discussion on leadership, googliness, consultancy and third round was system design and code evaluation. Overall a good experience, and the interviewers were very friendly. I didn't pass on teh system design round, as I didn't reach their expectations.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

A lot of questions on leadship and handling taught situations as a consultant. Also on the system design, the questions were becoming harder over time, which is expected considering the big company expectations.

      Entretien

First interview was a phone call to walk me through the hiring process. I was told the next stage will be the technical screening round. Since this was a consulting role, coding wasn't expected much, (or not as much as a software engineer) I was told the round will mostly be around Object Oriented Programming (OOP), and high-level system design. So, I prepared for 2 weeks before the technical round, according to that suggestion. On the technical screening day, I was devastated & shocked to see "Data Structure and Algorithm" (DSA) coding question. I politely mentioned the interviewer that this interview wasn't for software engineering, and I was also told in the previous rounds that the technical round will not be on DSA. The interviewer refused to listen to me, and told me to do this coding question regardless. I was shocked to see this kind of behavior and unprofessionalism from Google's interview process. I obviously tried my best, I was able to come up with the right solution, but failed to code it out, as I had not practiced DSA for this interview. I practiced OOP and system design, as I was suggested to. It felt like for some reason they were trying to find was to intentionally fail candidates, probably because they already had someone lined up from some privileged means. This left me with a very negative taste of Google's recruitment process, and my perception of Google as a company has definitely changed for the worse. My experience and expertise aligned very well with the job posting, but I was sabotaged by the interviewers who was supposed to be fair with the candidates. I AM NEVER APPLYING TO GOOGLE AGAIN!!

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

I was asked to do DSA question for a non-engineering role. I would have no problem doing it if I was told in prior that DSA will be the subject, which would've let me weeks to prepare for it. But I was told the questions will be based on system design and OOP. I my recruitment was sabotaged. I AM NEVER APPLYING to GOOGLE AGAIN!
