I had a really pleasant experience with HubSpot during the interview process. The recruiter was great, super friendly and really personable. I had a phone interview with the recruiter first and then I was offered the opportunity to meet with the director. I was given a tour of their office beforehand and noticed everyone was really friendly and happy which I thought was a good sign. The director was really laid back and the interview was very conversational v.s. formal. After meeting with the director, I came in for another interview to meet the rest of the team. I did a white-boarding session with the product designers on the team and spoke to the product manager afterwards on how we would work together if I were offered the opportunity to work there. I think the overall interview went well and I felt really comfortable speaking to all the team members. I didn't end up getting an offer because of not performing as well during the white-boarding session. While I had a great experience meeting all the team members, I was a little mislead but the email I got after the interviewing process. I received an email a few days after my interviews were complete, thanking me for my time and to expect a phone call to discuss "next steps". Usually next steps means there will be an offer extended so I found the choice of words in the email a little misleading.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review and for your feedback on the communications. While we tend to leave the follow up open-ended until we fully debrief as a team, I can understand how you found the email to be misleading. I'll share your feedback with the team and going forward we'll ensure we're more thoughtful in our communications. Thanks again for your feedback - Becky

After handing in my CV I had a recruiter reaching out for an initial interview. It clearly stated that there is no preparation needed for this round.
Recruiter call was on the phone and quite impersonal with a standard script. The recruiter provided all the basic information you would expect from a call like that so I got a clear picture of the set up, team and company. I was then asked to walk them through a project of mine which came as a surprise, considering the ‘no preparation needed’ statement on the invite.
Overall friendly call but please be more upfront what you’re expecting of candidates during this interview.

Overall interview process would’ve been four phases: recruiter screen, hiring manager interview, portfolio review, and a panel virtual onsite behavioral interview.
I didn’t make it past the hiring manager interview but everybody was nice and quick to set up interviews and give feedback.

The recruiter reached out and we set an initial interview very quickly. It went well. Then, I met the hiring manager. He was very thorough and professional in the interview. The process felt pretty standard and there was especially good communication with the recruiter
