After applying via Linkedin, a manager reached out to me to have a chat about future opportunities (pun intended) at Salesforce. We had an informal chat and about a month later the same manager came back to me with an opening in his team, so I started the interview process.
After the usual HR screening, I had a more structured interview with the same manager and then I progressed to the panel interview with two other senior managers, where I had to prepare a presentation in advance on an imaginary prospect client and run a mock product demo on the Salesforce platform. I was assigned a "buddy" solution engineer who helped me structure and rehearse my pres & demo. The panel lasted about an hour and was as realistic as possible, with the senior managers involved acting as customers, with questions, doubts and objections.
The aim of the panel is to verify your presales skills: gathering, selecting and presenting relevant information, understanding business needs and handling objections.
In the end, there was only one opening and I did not get the job, but the whole process was really well managed by the company, who kept me in the loop all the way and supported me so that I could perform at the highest level, leaving me with good feedback and a foot in the door for future openings.
This is a company who really walks the talk and believes in its values: everyone was really kind, friendly and supportive.
I would definitely recommend applying.
