J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez UnitedHealth Group (Gurgaon, Haryana) en nov. 2014

- Contacted by hiring agency, who informed about face to face in Gurgaon.
- Earlier a manager from Hyderabad called to conduct the initial interview.
- For second round, Reached the location at 9:30, when the interview was supposed to start at 10.00 am and no one could be seen around till the last moment. The HR strolled in at 9:55 am.
- The Person who was supposed to conduct the discussion, wasn't even aware of the Job description. I was asked to show the Job description.
- Interviewer claimed he was a business analyst, but a faded t-shirt and jeans along with hoodie jacket didn't gave the best impression. Interviewer looked tired and only at the end , I came to know that he was working 1 pm -1 am shift and hence looked tired.
- Job description was of business analyst, but they wanted a technical Architect + Database administrator. The word "business analyst" was misleading. Questions ranged from "how is Oracle different from teradata" to "SQL tuning".
- Job description was miseading had mentioned "Candidate must be willing to work with the team based in US". That doesn't qualify for 1 pm - 1 am shift. 9pm-10pm is the max, the overlapping should be done.
- Overall negative experience. They are planning to move the business analyst jobs from US to India, but they themselves don't understand that business analyst in US are much more competent than the counterparts in India. The accent issue is one of the biggest problem and people who have experience in working in US should have been given preference than someone who is more technically sound. Business analyst are only the liaisons between different teams and need to have good personality and interpersonal skills.

I had to self identify before UHG would set up an Interview. The interview was scheduled within the week. It was a phone interview for a remote position. I was early; the recruiter was on time.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
I had to self identify before I got the interview. After I identified my gender and race, the recruiter scheduled an interview. She asked me to tell her about myself. She asked why I wanted to work for UHG. I asked a couple of questions and she was stand-offish and said she didn’t understand my question. She lowballed the salary for this position. I asked when will they let the candidates know if they progresses to the next step. The recruiter said within 24-48 hours. Ten minutes after my interview, she sent me a denial email. It’s clear that UHG uses the Rooney Rule. They have to interview highly qualified, minority candidates but they have NO intention of offering employment. They just want to check that box.

**APPLICANTS BEWARE**
I applied online, the process took 7 weeks.
I was first contacted to self identify, then a few days later was contacted by a recruiter to schedule an initial call with the hiring manager.
The hiring manager meeting was a few days later and was extremely casual and informal.
I then never heard back from anyone at UHG. I reached out to the original recruiter several times over the next 4 weeks and finally received a response back a month after the initial conversation with the hiring manager. This was an automated email from "Talent Acquisition" that I was still under consideration and that they appreciated my patience. I had been checking my candidate portal consistently over those several weeks and my status never changed--it was always "Under consideration; additional interviews scheduled".
Finally 10 days after the automated response my status updated to "application reviewed; interview to be scheduled". This was on a Friday. On Monday morning I received another automated email from "Talent Acquisition" that the job I had applied for was no longer available and that they appreciated my time and efforts I put in.
This was by far the WORST candidate experience I have ever gone through. Their website states how they take their recruitment process seriously and really care for their candidates, but I found this process to be extremely disorganized and lacking any empathy whatsover. Will most certainly NOT be applying to any additional positions with this company (especially after reading some of the other reviews I've seen on Glassdoor).
Lengthy but good, just a series of phone calls after the video question response. Met with managers and director. Applied to many many many positions and various careers and otherwise in order to meet the minimum length requirements to use this site.
