J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 1 jour. J'ai passé un entretien chez Google (Hyderâbâd) en mai 2012

      Entretien

I got a call from the recruiter, She has called me around 10 PM IST, did the initial resume and phone screening. After 45 minutes of telephonic conversation, she invited me to come for a face to face at the Google office. The recruiter did not have properly planned for the interview and not sent an address details but sent couple of urls to me in email that were all on Google Maps and promos. It was told that 12 PM IST my interview I reached the office at 11:45 AM IST after my R&D on route and address, She had invited to office and was taken to their agency office, asked me to wait and said that she would return in 5 minutes but she didn’t came till 12:45 PM IST. She said that the interviewer was busy with some of his meetings... She said that one of the managers would take my interview and while we were walking to the interviewer’s room, she said that i don't need wait after the interviewer (I understood that if they’re NOT taking the situation seriously and having a legitimate business, it’s a sales pitch). The recruiter had introduced to the person interviewer as a 'Program Manager" (Strange, peer level person doing the interview another Program Manager). The interviewer (name is Axxxn) was not at all prepared or does not have require 'interviewing skills'. Neither interviewer nor the recruiter has said the apology of delay to begin (so unprofessional), he just begun the interview asking a question which is nowhere related to “Program Manager” level (Senior Professional). The 1st basic question was asked “Choose 3 desserts from a menu of 10.” I said it is C (10, 3) = 120, He said, its Incorrect, then I said Okay and tried to explained, he interrupted. I noticed his body language and his eye contact, he was not confident. He asked me the six sigma DPMO value, I said 3.4. Then he got a call from someone (I assumed it may his friend) then he said the interview is done (that too within 20 minutes) begun asking me “Do I have any questions?” Yes, I said. “Who is the hiring manager for the Program Manager and why that manager was not part of this discussion?” He said it was delegated to him and told me that not to expect a Director or VP level of person as interviewer. (It was rude, by his body language) and then he said you can go. I said thanks for his time and opportunity and left the place. No follow-up done by either me or them. I have prepared lot for the interview and expectation because of Google’s brand name, but to my surprise that I didn’t get any question on Project Management/ Program Management or at least leadership questions on behavioral questions. I would suggest when you go next time for the interview with Google for Senior or Leadership positions then please ask the following questions (that I have read on the internet) 1. Whom will I be interviewing with? (The best way to adequately prepare for an interview is to know whom you’ll be speaking with. You’ll likely have different questions for the hiring manager than you would for the entire team or the department head. You’ll also want to do some research on the interviewers so you can ask them personalized, insightful questions. Plus, if the employer can’t give you specific names, you have to wonder if they’re taking the situation seriously and are even a legitimate business. For all you know, you could end up in a room with 30 other applicants on the receiving end of a sales pitch. If a serious employer calls you for an interview, they’ll already have interviewers lined up and should have no problem sharing their names. 2. Can you tell me more about the opportunity and why you think my qualifications are a good fit? (You’ve spent a lot of time customizing your résumé so that employers know you’re serious about their specific role. You used keywords and quantified results to prove your worth. If employers can’t pinpoint what attracted them to you, then they’re probably not looking for a great worker to help grow with the role. They’re looking for anyone who will accept the offer and won’t hesitate to replace you if it doesn’t work out.) Also suggest that Google to have right people on the board to interview the Senior or Leadership positions. Thanks

The interview scheduling was long and had multiple cancellations throughout the process, causing a delay and misalignment in expectations. The interviewer was not prepared/informed on what questions to ask which was really disappointing, especially considering company like Google.
