To strengthen our Sophia Antipolis satellite team, we are looking for a passionate Digital Modeler driven by innovation, technical design excellence, and new technologies.
In your day-to-day role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting Advanced Design programs supporting the long term company’s vision, as well as delivering high quality 3D models for production parts within the Design Services team. YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

Transit between the boundaries of Surface modeling and Technical development, working along with creative designers and different BRP engineering teams to create what’s next

Develop aesthetic surfaces for components of vehicle body work, taking into consideration the interactions between these components and the vehicle’s other systems, the ergonomic and functional requirements and the styling constraints

Build Class A aesthetic surfaces within proper timelines, using high end surface modeling software (CATIA/ALIAS)

Deliver quick 3D visualizations based on sketches provided by our creative team, using Sub-D modeling (Blender/Alias)

Assist the design team by carrying out various support tasks (layout of ergonomic and mechanical packages, 3D scanning of models, rapid prototyping, supervision of the construction of proof-of-concept models, etc.)

Coordinate outsourced CAD work with your manager

Support the development and production of physical models, with a strong focus on 3D printing technologies. YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in computer-aided design, industrial design, or the equivalent

5 to 8 years of experience in the design of aesthetic parts with complex surfaces for the development of recreational vehicles, consumer products or equivalent

Be a flexible player to work in different projects at the same time, able to select the right digital design tool according to project phase and goals; (alt: Be a Swissknife modeler type, able to use different softwares according)

Demonstrate good skills related to construction methods for Class A surfaces

Mastering Autodesk Alias and/or Catia V5 surface work (FreeStyle, GSD). ICEMSurf is a plus

A good knowledge of Catia V5 mechanical modules is a major asset (Assembly Design, Part Design,…) or other parametric tool like Fusion or Solidworks

Strong attention to form and detail, highly developed spatial perception and ability to interpret and actualize designers’ ideas

Possess good knowledge related to materials and manufacturing processes, particularly thermoplastics; (plastics transformation & moldability)

Knowledge of mechanical or industrial constraints, and UX/UI sensitivity applied to complex systems is a strong asset

Ability to manage assignments independently and interact directly with stakeholders

Experience with 3D printers (FDM, SLA, etc.), moving from a digital concept to a physical object

Be a positive & collaborative person, with a proactive and resilient mindset, understanding the changing nature of advanced design programs
